“ To create cultural religiosity that commits to non violence and gender justice”
Founded on the 1st of March 2007, The Asian Muslim Action Network (AMAN) in Indonesia has been working on conflict transformation by strengthening the role of women.
At community level, we have been engaging around 1000 inter faiths women into an incubating process to become female leaders, who can cultivate values of peace and gender justice not only inside the family, but also to strengthen social cohesion, in both their community and by influencing policy to be more gender sensitive and peace oriented.
In bringing bigger change, AMAN Indonesia believes that by disseminating inclusive interpretation of Islamic text, building women-led community resilience, facilitating consolidation of progressive voices and advocating peace-oriented and gender-based policy, we can grow a tolerant society.
The Asian Muslim Action Network (AMAN) Indonesia is also actively involved in the development process through the drafting of the National Action Plan and the Local Action Plan on the Protection and Empowerment of Women and Children under Social Conflict
